PRIST University Chennai ECR Campus Chennai, also known as Ponnaiyah Ramajayam Institute of Science & Technology, was founded in 2008 in Chennai, India. Students can pursue degree programs in Business & Management, Computing & Analytics, Design, Engineering & Technology at the university. The establishment of PRIST, Deemed to be the University Chennai ECR Campus, was established in 2008 and received the AICTE approval in 2013. The university has received the Govt. of Tamil Nadu recognition and has been affiliated with the NAAC. The institution has also formed partnerships with many corporations for placements, as placing students has always been the university's main goal.

Initially, the PRIST University Chennai ECR Campus offered NCTE Approval courses such as BA, B.Ed, and B.Sc, B.Ed. courses. Later the university incorporated Pharmacy Council of India approved courses such as B.Pharm and M.Pharma and agriculture courses such as B.Sc. Agriculture & B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering).

• For pursuing a B.Arch course, candidates must pass in 10+2 (or) 10+3 diploma examination with mathematics as a compulsory subject, having obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category). The applicant must have a valid score in the NATA entrance exam.
• For pursuing a B.Tech course, candidates must pass in 10+2 (or) 10+3 diploma examination with mathematics as a compulsory subject, having obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category). The applicant must have a valid score in the JEE Main entrance exam.
• For the B.Sc in Agriculture course, 10+2 in any stream from a recognised board. Candidates appearing for the 12th exam can also apply for Merit secured in the qualifying exam from a recognised board with physics, chemistry, and biology/botany. 
• For the B.Sc in computer course, 10+2 in any stream from a recognised board. Candidates appearing for the 12th exam can also apply for Merit secured in the qualifying exam from a recognised board with maths, physics, chemistry, and biology. 
• The candidate must clear the 10+2 in any stream from a recognised board with English as a subject for the BBA course. Candidates appearing for the 12th exam can also apply on a provisional basis.
• For the BCA course, the candidate must clear the 10+2 in any stream from a recognised board with mathematics/statistics/business mathematics/computer science. Candidates appearing for the 12th exam can also apply on a provisional basis.
• For pursuing a B.Com course, candidates must clear the 10+2 in any stream from a recognised board with mathematics/business mathematics/english/accountancy.
• For pursuing an M.Tech course, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in the B.Tech. The applicant must have a valid score in the GATE entrance exam.
• For pursuing an MBA course, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in the BBA. The applicant must have a valid score in the CAT entrance exam.

The admissions for UG and PG courses at PRIST University Chennai ECR Campus, Chennai begin in March every year. Candidates who are interested in a particular course can apply online.

• After results are announced, the applicant must attend a consultation to choose a campus and a course.
• Aside from JEE main, each year, in the months of May and June, the institution has its own admission exam for selection.
• Applicants seeking admission to the M. Tech programme must take the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) examinations held on an all-India basis.
• GATE is a test administered jointly by IITs and IISC for admission to many famous IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other universities for M. Tech programmes.
• To get admitted to an MBA programme, candidates must take the CAT exam held on an all-India basis. Aside from the CAT, candidates for MBA admission must take the PRIST University's entrance exam, which includes questions on logic, maths, English, intelligence, and basic understanding.
